My car radio and mp3 options and iTunes monopoly?

Ok, so there are many things in this case. I'm sick of having so many CDs in my car and having to Switch Out, I would like a MP3 player connected to my car so that all my music is easily accessible. I have an iPod mini, but it is out of breath, so I do not really want to use. I do not want to buy another iPod, because my computer is not everything that is compatible with them. However, all my music on iTunes, which is in mp4 format. So, is there a way for me to buy a non-iPod mp3 player that I can easily play in my car speakers that I can use with iTunes without having to spend lots of money? I suppose I could move my music over to another program, but that sounds like a problem. I suppose I could buy a new iPod, but I fear it will not work with my computer (again), and I that the amount of money that way. If I can not get what I want, what is my best option to use my iPod mini in my car for good? Many Thanks!

Unfortunately, because iTunes uses a home audio format, you can not play protected content purchased from iTunes on any anything but an iPod. The conversion is certainly an option. It is quite a pain, but if you want to get away from iPod players, is really the only way to get your music on a new player. If much of your music collection on CD, then simply re-rip your CDs to your computer. There are many options to connect iPods and other MP3 players to a car stereo, FM transmitters, auxiliary audio jacks are the main methods. Or if you have a cassette player in your car, you can use a cassette adapter. There are tons of Nice MP3 players can be found at very good, including Sandisk, Creative and Sony.
