Is this a good idea to update my ipod touch 2nd gen for the new 3.0 firmware for jailbreaking?

I have not been days in the scene since jailbreaking iPod 1st gen ipod touch so I do not know if there is a way to jailbreak the new 3.0 version yet … I just bought 2nd Generation today and I wonder if it's a good idea to jailbreak … Is there any good 3rd Party Apps?
